To those of you who follow my blog, thank you. In the wake of the devastation of Sandy, the tragic loss of life and upheaval of the past week, my blog will be dark out of respect. Posting my pictures while so many have suffered just doesn't seem right to me. But, life does go on and so will my photo adventure. Kids go back to school and hopefully Grandma will no longer be homeless. I am so very fortunate.My house has quieted down. I was blessed with those who sought refuge in my home. I hope my many friends, new friends and family are safe and warm.

2 pairs of swordtails and 2 glow fish. Lots of fun!

Returned to Sherwood Island again today. It was not as chilly and the sun was shining.

Beautiful day for the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk at Sherwood Island State Park here in Westport. There was a truly amazing turnout!

Busy Day

Up early to take Josh to his PSAT, then driving school and driving lesson. Dana and Jon picked us up to go to the Camp Ramah reunion. We had a lovely dinner at a small sushi restaurant near Harlem. We passed this great little community garden all decked out for Halloween

Autumn

Beautiful day after all of the rain. had a wonderful time at NNW TGIF at Tina's house.

Brooklyn Bound

Braved the evil traffic and headed to Brooklyn for breakfast with Sherry and a visit with Grandma. Of course I forgot to take a picture but broke my personal best record of 44.4 mpg roundtrip!

Raisin in the Sun

Morning meeting at JHSC to plan the annual Hanukah party then off to meet the ladies at the Westport Country Playhouse to see the classic Raisin in the Sun. It was a wonderful end to a great season.

The best part of my weekly volunteer work at Staples High School library is watching the leaves turn. They are always more beautiful there.

NNW Book Club

Still warm enough to meet at the beach for NNW Daytime Book Club to discuss Little Bee. Afterwards I had my appointment with my gastroenterologist to set up my colonoscopy, yipee!

Fashionista!

Tori was asked to model by her fashion teacher in a show benefiting the Avon breast Cancer Walk. It was loud and soooo many people. Tori looked amazing, which you can't tell from this photo. i am still waiting for her to give me the good pictures!

Pumpkin Picking and Cara's Bday

An amazingly beautiful day. We had so much fun taking pictures in the pumpkin patch at Silverman's Farm. We finished off the day with another fire and cupcakes for Cara's early birthday celebration.

My kids are home!

Cara and Dustin are here for the weekend so al my kids are under the roof. It's a chilly night so first fire of the season and smores!

Day 4

4th and Final. I really wanted to make it through all 5 days but I found I was actually drinking less than 50% which wasn't the point at all. On the plus side, I no longer have a dependance on caffeine and have greatly decreased mu dependance on artificial sweetener so good deal!

Day 3

Started out better today, even a little thirsty. I was very happy to see 2 orange drinks today but no almond milk. Got through the cucumber juice and most of the green juice, it still tastes like grass. Honestly couldn't even take a sip of the green smoothie so moved along to the pink grapefruit juice. It was very sour but nice to have a different flavor. Still have carrot-ginger soup and aloe juice for the day. I find the aloe juice very scarey. I know it can be slimely which is a consistency I can't do.

Day 2

Day 2 started off really rough. I am never hungry but dizzy. There were no fruits at all today which was disappointing. I did like the limeonade. I was not able to drink #4 again today. Hope I can make it through all 5 days!

Juice Fast, Day 1

Was really looking forward to this. I'm not sure if it's me or the juices but they are pretty disgusting. Juice 1 was cucumber juice, tasted vaguely of cucumbers. Juice 2 was Green Juice. I found a quote, "Green Juice, it was like drinking everything bad that ever happened to me in high school." Totally agree. I looked forward to Juice 3, Almond Milk. Very watery. Still working on Juice 4, Cantaloupe juice. Tastes like neither cantaloupe nor juice. Tastes like water with a hint of grass. Still have Juice 5, lemonade (I doubt that is how I will describe it) and Juice 6, another Green concoction. I admit I feel fine but really hope either the juices improve or I miraculously grow to like them or it will be a very long 5 days. Wish me luck!

 Josh had his first outting with Best Buddies. He went to pumpkin pick at the Jones Family Farm.

Achy old lady hip problem so changed my walk route and explored Assumption Cemetery.

It is lovely and very private. Saw a large family of deer eating there.
